Hi.

I hope to help encourage as many women out there to take the plunge, step out of their comfort zone and book that solo trip.

I remember the doubt and worry I had before travelling alone for the first time and I’m here to try and show you just how empowering that first time will be for you.

After arriving home after my trips I realised there’s only so much I could recount to friends and family without sounding obsessed, which ignited the idea of writing this blog.

If there’s anything I’ve learnt over the past few years of travelling, it’s that, whilst the beaches, monuments and museums are all incredible, these are not the things that will change your life, it goes way beyond that.

What makes travel so fundamentally life-changing is the connection you make with the people in the country you visit and everything you learn from each person.

Listening to their story, understanding a life different to your own and creating relationships despite language barriers, cultural differences and different upbringings simplifies life in a way that nothing else does.

And connection knows no bounds, regardless of age, nationality or language. It allows you to really see the true beauty in the world, the people and everything around them.

A weekend in Rome was the catalyst that ignited this lust for travel. I remember getting back after a whirlwind 4 days and crying with my friend at the fact it was over.

After that, I knew. I needed to see more of the world out of my little city. Since then I’ve realised how little I knew back then and how much more there is to learn.

Every trip has taught me something; the history of a country or a conversation with somebody that resonates so deeply it changes my entire perception on life.

I feel different afterwards.

And it’s this feeling that has sparked the creation of this blog, travel is the best teacher and everyone should have the chance to experience it themselves.

It’s also more attainable than people think, if you’d have told the 20 year old me I would have travelled to over 30 countries by now I would have never believed it, especially solo.

And I want to show you how it’s possible for you to do it too. I want to try and show that the world isn’t the big scary place it’s made out to be, especially for women.

You can travel without thousands in the bank and you can travel solo.

If you’re still reading…

The Icebreaker:

  • My favourite places on earth reside in Latin America, there’s something about that continent that lights my soul on fire.
  • I’m a reggaeton fan and I don’t feel bad about it.
  • I love to hate hiking… A girl I met referred to it as second class fun which I fully support. A type of fun you only look back at as fun after you’ve done it. But I enjoy the feeling of pushing myself further than I thought.
  • I love writing about places after I’ve visited them, it’s like reliving all of your insane experiences all over again.
  • I fear I will never be able to settle, the incessant need to constantly experience more culture, more landscape and meet new people is both a blessing and a curse.
  • I aspire to speak 4 languages but 5 years of learning Spanish and wanting to sink into the ground when someone tries speaking to me in it makes me question the attainability.

To give you a little idea into what goes on in my mind 🙂

What you can expect to see:

My main focus is on solo females travelling the world and getting to have once in a lifetime experiences. Things have changed quickly, there’s never been more people travelling than there is now and the best thing about it is that data shows that 84% of solo travellers are female. On this blog you’ll find safety tips, honest recommendations destination guides, budgeting guides and a few chaotic travel stories.
